Conference 2023

24 NOVEMBER 2023

On November 24th the WAOP Conference 2023 took place, welcoming academics and practitioners interested in sharing the latest advancements in organizational psychology and related fields.

This year’s conference was organized by the Organizational Psychology Department in collaboration with the Human Resource Management & Organizational Behavior Department of Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Around 140 people from 19 universities and universities of applied sciences and from 5 different companies came together at Forum Groningen – a beautiful and exciting venue!

During the day, many interesting presentations were given on various topics, among which well-being and performance, workplace diversity and inclusion, AI and human-robot collaboration, and leadership styles and roles – to name just a few.

A very inspiring keynote was given by prof. dr. Bettina Wiese, whose research is dedicated to gaining a better understanding of how people shape their careers and everyday life in the work and non-work domains. In her keynote, she discussed motives and roles of early-career scientists in particular.

Nominees for the yearly Best Paper Award were Judith Langerak, Felix Grundmann and Monica de Jong. Monica, congratulations on winning the award with the paper titled ‘Conflict management 101: how emotional intelligence can make or break a manager’!

Many thanks to the organizing committee, volunteers, speakers, and participants for making this a wonderful day. Hopefully we’ll meet again at next year’s conference – organized by Universiteit Utrecht!
